Suggestions to PMO 5: Ease bank loan to service sector

Micro-finance from Banks
HDFC Bank In Andhra Pradesh
We know that India is moving towards developed nation and is in the third phase of economic development.. Gradually thrust of our economy has been shifting from agriculture sector to industrial sector to service sector. Service sector has lion's share in today's economy. It is true for India as well as other developed nation.

We also know that service sectors, in most of the cases need more working capital than to infrastructure. Our banks and financial institutes have been traditionally sanctioning loan to industrial sector mainly for machinery and building etc. They normally do not lend to service sector where they require money as working capital.

Everybody knows that business organizations in service sector, such as Infotech companies do not require much money for infrastructure and machinery. They do not even need raw materials as in the case of industrial (Manufacturing) sector. Many times manufacturing sector companies pledge their goods to banks and financial institutions to get finance. As service sector companies have almost no raw materials there are nothing to pledge.

Normally, banks and financial companies do not finance these companies without collateral  securities. This is the biggest hindrance for start ups who face difficulties in managing finance. Large numbers of young, educated, trained, skilled and enthusiastic entrepreneurs can not continue failing to arrange finance to run their companies.

We know that a business needs many other things. A young and enthusiastic entrepreneur has to face difficulties in various fronts. Managing finance is a herculean task for him or her. Banks and finance companies do not want to take risk as most of the assets in service setor are virtual. They don't want to lend without pledging physical assets.

We urge the PMO, India and our Prime Minister Sri Narendra Modi to look into this problem and come out with a solution. Given opportunity our young entrepreneurs can do miracle. The government has to show belief on these young and start up businesses. Even a small amount can change their destiny.

It will be better if the government declares scheme for service sector enterprises. There may be some NPA for banks while lending them but we have to come forward for overall economic development and job creations. The NPA cost will be negligible in comparison to development of the country.

We believe that the present government under the able leadership of Narendra Modi will look into it and do something in national interest.

PMO in action: Work started in Narmada dam and other places

Sardar Sarovar dam on river Narmada
Our Prime Minister Narendra Modi, has started taking Pleasing actions on various fronts. We have seen a tremendous speed in PMO in program implementation today. Sri Narendra Modi, as Chief Minister of Gujrat always wanted to hike the height of Sardar Saraovar dam on river Narmada. It would not only be beneficial for Gujrat but also for several other states likes of Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh. However, the then central government did not permit to do so.

Being Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi cleared the project today and informed Anandi Ben Patel, his successor in Gujrat. Anandiben took an immediate action as Gujrat CM and rushed to the dam. She worshiped there and called her officers to start work. The engineers and workers started working to raise height of Sardar Sarovar dam. On the other hand, Medha Patekar, as usual, criticized the decision.

Have any one in India seen such quick steps on a project? We are habituated of delayed projects that causes troubles. Delay causes hike in cost and irritates common people. We know that several projects of dam started by the then Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi in Maharashtra are not yet completed.

We congratulate both PM, India and CM, Gujrat for immediate action. The lazy days have gone and PMO is establishing work culture. As a resident of Rajasthan, I am thankful to both again. Barmer, desert district of Rajasthan will be immensely benefited by this project.

"Mahajano yen gatah sa panthah". Other ministers in Modi cabinet are also seen in action. Dr. Harshvardhan, Union health minister visited several hospitals in Delhi and took necessary actions. Venkayya Naidu, Urban development minister and Prakash Javdekar, environment minister visited offices in their respective departments. Both of them warned officials to come on time and dedicate themselves to work. Uma Bharati has started taking action on cleaning Ganga.

We believe that India will develop fast in the able leadership of Sri Narendra Modi. Achchhe din aa gaye hain!!

Suggestions to PMO 4: Focus on the top and the bottom of Indian population

Before I start, I want to thank our beloved Prime Minister Sri Narendra Modi for endorsing all of our three suggestion in his speech in parliament today. We know that he is open to all suggestions given by anyone. He proved this again.

India is a large country with vast population and focusing all sectors and addressing whole population is a difficult task. If we focus on the top and the bottom of the population we can achieve what we need.

We know from the data available in various fields that the ten percent population of India have immense economic, political and intellectual (knowledge) resources. In fact, they run and control rest of India. They are strength of India and have been taking India ahead.

On the other hand, there are people living in the bottom. They are deprived of resources. There are malnutrition, child death, uneducated population, and other problems mainly because of poverty among them.  There are pressure over government funds to help them. These category is pulling India down.

If we focus on the top layer, they will rise more quickly. As they have control over most of the resources. Uplifting of these ten percent top ranked  will take India to better growth. Say, ten percent growth of mere ten percent people will result an overall growth of five percent in Indian GDP.

This top class will pull rest of the Indians upwards and an automatic growth in the mid-level will be visible. Similarly, focus on the bottom will significantly add value to their lives. Slight uplifting of this class will reduce burden on government funds. Unproductive or under productive human resources can be productive. If we focus on empowering this group of people they will put an upwards pressure on the middle class Indians. Hence, they will automatically grow.

We know that we have many problems to address with limited resources. Therefore, it will be better to target people from bottom and top.  Bottom line, if supported will put upwards pressure for development of the mid-level and the top will pull them. It is obvious that the remaining mid-level population will be automatically benefited.

An untold story of Narendra Modi

Narendra Modi, taking oath as PM of India

Sri Ganpat Salecha, NMVM coordinator, Jodhpur met me today. He told a real story about Sri Narendra Modi. I would like to share the same that may inspire the readers.

It was in the seventies in Gujrat. Sri Ganpat Salecha was living in Khadia, Ahmadabad. His entire family was RSS followers. He was a businessman and an office bearer in Yuva Jansangh (BJP was not established at that time). Sri Narendra Modi was teaching in a school run by RSS at that time. Sri Shankar Singh Baghela was a trustee in that school. Sri Baghela and Salecha used to sit together and Sri Modi had to come there for getting some register signed.

Once, some of the Jansangh members were discussing difficulties in fund raising at party office. Narendra Modi intervened the discussion and asked about usage of six-seven vacant rooms in party office. Actually these were kept unused. Modi suggested to start a venture for women (cooperative type) at that place.  His suggestion was granted and a venture was started with 60 to 70 widows of that area.

They started preparing Khakhra, Papad, Badi etc and those were sold to Jansangh supporters. Local grocers, supporting Jansangh started supplying raw materials at cost. Gradually they started earning profit after paying labor charges to the women employees. Soon they started earning enough to run their local office.

Local Jansangh office not only got out of financial crunch but also helped several economically deprived families. This step made Jansangh popular among the local people. Narendra Modi was in his twenties at that time, however, his vision showed path to Jansangh leaders.

Three decades passed after that, Modi became Chief Minister of Gujrat in 2002. Ganpat Salecha had returned back to his native place in Rajasthan. He was among organizers of a religious event at Pachpadra in Rajasthan and wanted Modi to grace the occasion with his esteemed presence.  He called on Modi. Sri Narendra Bhai recognized him even after an interval of three decades.

Sri Salecha requested him to join the religious event. Modi, CM of Gujrat refused him modestly. He told that he would be in Gujrat only for next five years. He added that he want to visit each and every place, village to village in Gujrat during that period.  However, he wrote a letter and handed over it to Salecha to be read out as a message from CM, Gujrat.

These two events show few of Modi's qualities vision, imagination, planning, dedication and concentration towards the goal. We still see the same qualities in him that made him Prime Minister of India. And Indian people believe that he will take India to new heights.

Suggestions to PMO 3: Promote entrepreneurship among Indian young

Vardhaman Infotech image for Entrepreneurship development
Entrepreneurship development
Suggestions to PMO 3 (Prime Minister's Office)

Promote entrepreneurship by facilitating them through all means. Mindless bureaucracy and red tappism is the biggest hurdle, remove it or at least reduce it. Indian entrepreneurs, given opportunity, can do miracle in economic field. They can generate millions of jobs too. Proper education/training and entrepreneurship can take India to a super power.

India has highest number of young people. Most of the young are qualified and large numbers of them have technical skills. However, there is a tendency of going for suitable jobs that can earn money for them immediately. They do not want to open a new horizon i.e. starting a new venture. Most of them lack entrepreneurship.

Indian schools, colleges and other technical institutes, normally, do not teach or encourage
entrepreneurship. It is much easier to teach a technical skill than to prepare one to start a new venture. We have to develop entrepreneurship among young by training and motivating them. Starting a new venture itself is difficult for a new comer and hurdles from mindless bureaucracy make it harder. We have to instruct and train our political leadership, bureaucracy and other concerning agencies to encourage entrepreneurship.

A new venture faces many challenges. First and foremost of the same is knowledge. Young has almost no knowledge of a business. They do not know how to start and run a business. Most of them think that if they have money they can start a business. They are, normally, driven by this notion. However, a successful entrepreneur knows that money comes at last.

Creating a suitable business system is the most difficult part. I urge, institutes should teach basics of business system. Managing human resource, finding customers, maintaining quality of product etc are the basic requirements. No doubt, managing finance plays vital role in a business.

Once established, a new venture creates large numbers of jobs that reduces unemployment. We know from the principles of economics that a direct job triggers to create three new indirect jobs. All new ventures add to tax revenue of government. Investment in entrepreneurship development will come back manyfolds in indirect way. It will help moving the wheels of Indian economy.

I request the government to prepare and implement a suitable plan for entrepreneurship development and create a positive environment for young entrepreneurs. Talented and skilled young can do miracle. Even a few successful ventures can change the whole scenario.

I further request the government to set up a task force or even a department under finance or industries ministry for this purpose. This will positively impact Indian industrial scenario and gradually boost Indian economy. A long term plan will be better.

Given opportunity, Indian young entrepreneurs can do miracle and make india a super power in world economy.

Suggestions to PMO 2: Promotion of bio-fertilizers and pesticides

Suggestions to PMO 2 (Prime Minister's Office)

Promotion of wormy compost and other bio-fertilizers and pesticides needed to reduce usage of chemical fertilizers and pesticides harmful for environment. This will reduce petroleum consumption, save foreign currency and also save water and electricity.

Indian farmers have been using chemical fertilizers and pesticides in huge quantity since the green revolution. It is true that usage of these chemicals enhanced Indian agricultural production many folds. It was required at that time.

We are now facing adverse affects of these chemical fertilizers and pesticides. Usage of these gradually reduces productivity of agricultural land and makes these baron. These kill useful microbes along with harmful ones resulting reduced productivity. Moreover, one has to use more and more fertilizers to maintain level of yield. Agricultural land that uses chemical fertilizers needs more water for irrigation. Chemicals cause pollution and depletion of valuable natural resources. These kind of fertilizers and pesticides are also harmful for human and cattle health. Sometimes it becomes hazardous and even fatal.

Most of the chemical fertilizers such as Urea are petroleum products. India spent billions of dollars in importing crude petroleum. Hence, use of chemical fertilizers cost us expensive foreign currency.  It plays a vital role in foreign trade imbalance.

Therefore, it is advisable to promote bio-fertilizers and pesticides instead of their chemical counterparts. Bio-fertilizers and pesticides are environment friendly. Farmers can grow healthy organic food by using bio ones.  It will not pollute and have positive effects on agricultural lands. This will enrich farms with useful microbes. Wormy compost and bio-compost also enhance numbers of worms in the land. These creatures naturally make land porous that allows natural air containing oxygen and nitrogen to the deep. This in turn feed the plants and makes them healthy and increase productivity. This also improves quality of food.

Government of India disburses billions of rupees as subsidy on chemical fertilizers and this is a debatable issue in free economy. We urge the government to subsidize bio-fertilizers and pesticides to promote their usage. It wil help us in saving our agricultural lands from pollution, save billions of dollars and save public health.

Producers will need huge quantity of cow dung to produce wormy compost. It will benefit millions of cattle grazers. It will also help us in save our cow progeny. This will increase employ-ability in rural area. Amalgamation with MNREGA can save huge money.

Suggestions to PMO 1: India needs more ITIs

Suggestions to PMO 1: Prime Minister's Office
Industrial Training Institute, India

Sri Narendra Modi, newly elected Prime Minister of India has done a good job by creating a facebook page for PMO. Indian people have an opportunity to post in this page. This is the Modi way to connect with common people directly. I would like to suggest few things that may be beneficial for the country. This one is the first in series. I would appreciate your suggestions in comment section.

1. Indian education system is to be changed. More ITIs are required than to normal schools. We need more skilled workers to compete with China in manufacturing sector. We need more ITIs and more courses in ITIs. India needs more blue collars than white collars.

Indian education system is following more or less the same pattern as of Lord  Macaulay. British rulers need clerks to govern India and they established an education system that produced clerks for British Masters.

India had a rich tradition of education and training for over all development of students since times immemorial. That very education system of ancient India led India to the top in the world. India was truly golden bird at that time.

Shrewd British rulers understood that they could not rule India and its highly educated people without ruining the system. They appointed Lord  Macaulay to design an education system suitable for British rulers. He successfully pushed Indians to that system. It happened in 19th century.

Two centuries passed thereafter. However, we are still moving with the same rotten and useless system. People love white collar jobs though it is not much required. The education system produces large numbers of graduates and post graduates and even Doctorates of no use. Indian/state governments spend billions of rupees to run the system. Large numbers of private institutes also contribute to the same rotten system. Both are adding to non productive workforce resulting unemployment and joblessness.

On the other hand, Indian manufacturing sector is crying for skilled work forces. We are not producing enough skilled workforce (Blue collar) required by our industries. Indian Industrial Institutes (ITIs) are the best solution for the problem. However, we do not have enough of these ITIs. Moreover, our ITIs have very less numbers of courses. There are several areas where we do not have any training program. Hence, our industries are trailing behind many other countries lacking skilled workforce.

We can learn from China. They established large numbers of Industrial training institutes that have been producing very large numbers of technical persons. They started courses according to demand of their industries. These trained and skilled workforce are moving wheels of their industries. The world has seen the power of China in manufacturing sector that made China a super power in world economy.

It is advisable that Indian government and private sectors change their education policy. We must not carry on with the two centuries old Macaulay system that ruined Indian industries. We have to upgrade our IITs, Engineering colleges, polytechnics and establish large numbers of ITIs with varied courses needed for our industries. We have to introduce several Computer and IT related courses to cater need of the industry.

Narendra Modi is sworn in as Prime Minister of India who has a vision to take India up. He wants to work tirelessly for development of the Nation India. His dreams come true with policy change in Indian education system.

NB: Please comment on this blogpost so that I can know your views and send that to PMO. Narendra Modi, PM of India is open to any suggestions from any persons. Pl follow the blog for latest updates.
